Having screened/ interviewed over 100 candidates for my last start-up, I felt that it was really challenging to determine the technical or platform-specific capabilities for non-engineering roles. Whilst engineers can provide evidence of their proficiencies via GitHub/ Leetcode etc., non-engineers don't have the same for their own functions.

SkillTree will be a web platform that focuses on proven proficiencies in specific tools, i.e. an operations manager using Zapier or a growth marketer using Clay, or a financial operations manager using Excel, or a business analyst using Looker. For each tool there will be interactive tests that cover various concepts using those tools, and will provide a score/ grading of the users proficiency in that tool.

This product aims to make it easier for companies to recruit for the skills they need, and for candidates to showcase their abilities to stand out among other applicants.
